Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening called for ‘Janta curfew’ across India on March 22 to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. In his address to the Nation, he urged the countrymen to observe ‘Janta curfew’ from 7 AM-9 PM on Sunday.
“No citizen, barring those in essential services, should get out of the house,” PM Modi said adding, “This Janta curfew will help us prepare for coming hardships. You can also call 10 people and make them aware of the Janta curfew. This Janta curfew on March 22 will help us acquaint ourselves with self-isolation.”
“On Mar 22 at 5 PM, we should thank people like doctors, medical personnel, cleaning staff,” stated the Prime Minister. He also urged the state governments to take initiatives for ‘Janta curfew’.
